I’ve prepared otoshidama for a one-year-old baby I’m going to see soon.
今度会う1歳の赤ちゃんに、お年玉を準備しました。

Since a baby doesn’t understand how to use money yet, her parents will probably use it for her needs or save it for her future.
赤ちゃんはまだお金の使い方が分からないので、彼女の親が彼女のために使うか、貯金するのだと思います。
She loves horses, so I chose a very cute horse-themed otoshidama envelope 😉
赤ちゃんは馬が大好きなので、こんな可愛い馬のお年玉袋にしました 😉

There is a small pocket on the back where you can put the money.

When I was preparing the money, I noticed something surprising — this otoshidama envelope actually came as a set of three!
お金を準備している時に気がついたのですが、なんとこのお年玉袋は3枚セットでした！
She is the only young child I plan to give otoshidama to.
私がお年玉をあげる予定の幼い子は、彼女しかいません。
Because the envelope has the zodiac animal on it, I can’t really use it next year. It feels a little wasteful 😅
干支がついているので来年は使えませんし、なんだかもったいないなぁと思ってしまいました 😅
I might just use it as a cute zodiac decoration at home 😂
