Today I'd like to introduce you to Shiritori.

Shiritori is the game of connecting words and it is very famous in Japan .
It can be enjoyed by everyone; children who are just starting to learn words, adults and even seniors.
しりとりは単語を繋げていくゲームで、日本ではとても有名です。色んな単語を覚え始めた子供からお年寄りまで楽しむ事ができます。
Since it does not require tools, it is a convenient game while driving or waiting for something.
道具を使わないので、運転中やちょっとした待ち時間などにもできる便利な遊びです👍
The rules of Shiritori
The first player starts the game by saying a word.
Only nouns can be used.
まず、1人が思いついた単語を言います。
使える単語は名詞のみです。

Then the next player must say a word that starts with the last kana/morae of the previous word. The game continues following this rule.
そして、次の人が初めの人が言った単語の最後の文字から始まる単語を言います。
同じルールに従ってゲームを進めていきます。

If the last kana/morae is voiced by dakuten or handakuten
kana/morae is voiced by dakuten or handakuten are treated the same as those without.
濁音、半濁音の文字は、濁音なしの文字と同じ扱いになります。
「ば」＝「ぱ」＝「は」

If the last kana/morae is a contracted sound
If the last kana/morae is a contracted sound such as "kyo", the next person may start with "kyo", "ki", or "yo".
「きょ」などの「拗音」の場合、次の人は「きょ」「き」「よ」どれから始めても構いません。

Losing the game
The player who says a word that ends with N loses.
最後に「ん」がつく単語を言った人が負けです。

If you say the same word as someone else, or if you can't think of a word, you lose.
誰かと同じ単語を言ったり、答えが思いつかない場合も負けです。

慣れてきたら、少しずつ勝つ方法を試してみてください。
The trick to win Shiritori is.
The trick to winning Shiritori is to end with a character that is difficult for your opponent to answer.
For example, in Japanese, it would be difficult to find a word that begins with "ru". Therefore, the trick is to say a word whose last letter is "ru".
しりとりに勝つコツは、相手が答えにくい文字で終わること。
例えば、日本語では「る」で始まる単語を見つけるのは難しいでしょう。
そこで、最後の文字が「る」である単語を言うのがコツです😉
End with the same letter over and over again.
Even if a word begins with a simple letter, it is hard to say it over and over again. Another trick to win is to always end with the same letter no matter what word comes. But it's hard to do this if you don't know a lot of different words yourself 😅.
簡単な文字から始まる単語でも、何度も繰り返し言うのは大変です。
どんな単語が来ても、必ず同じ文字で終わらせるのも勝つコツです。
ただ、自分も色んな単語を知っていないと、これをするのは難しいですね😅
Try to put some restrictions in the rules.
For example, it would be interesting to make it time-limited; it might be quite difficult to answer within 5 seconds.
It might also be interesting to set restrictions such as only being able to use words that are in the room at the moment, or only being able to use words related to the season.
Arranging the rules can make Shiritori even more fun, so please try to be creative 🤗.
Not only saying the words, but also drawing pictures, "Drawing Shiritori," can be a lot of fun!
例えば、時間制限付きにしてみるのも面白いと思います。5秒以内に答えるのは結構難しいかもしれません。
今、部屋にある単語だけしか使えない、とかその季節に関係する単語しか使えないなどの制約も面白いかもしれません。
単語を言うだけでなく、絵を描く「絵しりとり」も盛り上がりますよ！
ルールをアレンジする事により、しりとりは更に楽しくなるので、工夫してみてくださいね🤗
