Sakura: A Fleeting Beauty Cherished in Japan

Hello, I'm Mog.
Cherry blossoms are in full bloom across Japan. As I admire their delicate petals, I’d like to share my thoughts and feelings along with some photos.

Watching the cherry blossoms fills me with both joy and a quiet ache. Their fleeting beauty, so breathtaking, lingers for only about two weeks before the petals drift away like whispers on the wind. 🌸

Since childhood, I have shared the beauty of cherry blossoms with loved ones—at school entrance and graduation ceremonies, over homemade lunches with family, on spring journeys with friends, and beneath moonlit petals with someone dear.
Each moment was unique, yet whenever I see sakura, those memories blossom in my heart once more. I find myself wondering—how many more springs will I stand beneath this gentle shower of petals? For the Japanese, sakura is not just a flower, but a symbol of time, memory, and the bittersweet nature of life itself.

My Cherry Blossom Memory of 2025

This spring, I was preparing for the National Examination for Class 1 Health Supervisor, a certification related to labor safety, so I had given up on going cherry blossom viewing. I found comfort instead in the cherry blossoms along my commute route and in photos sent by close friends.

However, on April 8, when I stepped out of Keihan Tenmabashi Station near the exam venue, I was greeted by cherry blossoms in full bloom! I had no idea it would be this spectacular.
Cherry trees line the 4.2 kilometers along the Okawa River in Osaka. There were even sightseeing boats and food stalls set up for enjoying the blossoms.
It was an unexpected joy to experience such a luxurious cherry blossom viewing.
Maybe it was a reward for all my hard work! Let me share some photos with you.

If you ever have the chance to visit Osaka during cherry blossom season, I highly recommend walking along the river. The nearest stations to the Okawa River are JR Sakuranomiya Station and Keihan Tenmabashi Station.

Once again, I am deeply grateful to have witnessed the fleeting grace of cherry blossoms this year—and to be able to share their beauty with the world.
Until we meet again next week,
May your days be as bright and fleetingly beautiful as the sakura. 💕
